Vorab veröffentlicht DeSerter die Single “Pictures of me”, eine Auseinandersetzung mit der Macht der Bilder, inspiriert u.a. von Neil Postman (vgl. etwa schon 1992 Postman/Powers: How to watch TV). Der Bogen wird dabei von der privaten zur globalen Katastrophe gespannt und der Punkt ist: Wir können versuchen, zu glauben, an den Frieden, die Menschheit oder gar Gott, aber es wird uns schwerlich gelingen, uns der suggestiven Kraft von Bildern zu entziehen, im guten wie im Schlechten. Und das mag auch mit dem Gefühl zu tun haben: das könnte auch ich sein – What if that’s Pictures of me?
